Fine Jewelry Designs by Joy Beckner defined

In the beginning, there were the three Dream Chasers that were created as close to the standard as I knew how. These heads were the starting point from which I created the "Coming & Going" buckles, The "Dear To My Heart" Series and the "Love On My Shoulder" Series.

The basic premise of the titles refers to either a pendant, that is worn close to the heart, “Dear To My Heart”, or a pin, that is worn closer to the shoulder, “Love On My Shoulder”.

Here is the evolution of the designs:

1. From each Dream Chaser head, I created “Dear To My Heart” Design One. The heads are fully three dimensional.

2. “Love on my Shoulder” Design One, Pins, came next. I like the idea of having a dog’s head look as if it is emerging from one’s clothing. That is why I created these heads as three quarters of a head, when I look down on them. “Love On My Shoulder” Design One suddenly became available as a slide, when my jeweler made a Design One slide quite by accident! Each is signed and dated on the bottom.

Each coat is available as a Pin Pendant, Pin or Slide.

3. “Design Two” was designed to reduce the weight and size of both above pieces. Design Two is a perfect profile of the head when looking down on it, and is the basic design from which I create pins, pendants and slides. Titles for these include “Dear to My Heart” Design Two for pendants and slides, and “Love on my Shoulder” Design Two for pins. Each is signed and dated on the enclosed bottom.

“Design Two” is available as “Dear To My Heart” Pendants or Slides,
and as “Love on My Shoulder” Pins and Lapel Pins.

4. “Dear To My Heart, Long” Design Three came about because I wanted to present a long, flowing ear on this dog. Then, another client asked for “Dear to my Heart, Smooth” Design Three. “Dear To My Heart, Wire, Design Three” is available by commission.
“Design Three” is a three quarter head when looking down on it, and is open at the bottom. Each is signed and dated on the back of the neck.

Jewelry Polish ... KISS - Keep it So Simple
The jeweler who casts my work recommends a simple solution to polish your precious metal: baking soda and water! Wet your fingers, dip in baking soda, and gently rub over the piece until the desired sheen has been achieved. It's easy, earth friendly, and economical! Keep it so simple.
