This wearable proclamation of love about your favorite dachshund is both sculpture and a protective talisman. Worn on a sensuous serpent chain, it can be suspended as shown or you can loop the chain into an elegant knot.

I created this pendant in sterling silver, which has a brilliant shine when new -- as untainted as a newborn baby. You can keep yours that way through regular polishing. Or you can let nature give the pendant a rich patina, especially in the recessed areas. I can't wait to see mine after about a year, which is when I really start to love my sterling jewelry. The effect, which cannot be produced as beautifully with chemicals, adds definition to the sculptural qualities and enhances the three-dimensionality of the piece.

Remember that sterling silver, like all silver, is subject to scratches and may dent if dropped on a hard surface. When handled with love, the pendant will grow more beautiful with age and provide years of enjoyment.
