Joy Beckner: Fine Jewelry Slides "Dear To My Heart" Smooth Slide
High-Relief Wearable Sculpture
1 1/2"W x 1 3/8"H x 1/2"D Sterling Silver Edition of 20 & 2 Artist's Proofs ©2006 Special Order.
Image of back to come shortly. Your patience is appreciated. |
This wearable proclamation of love for your favorite dachshund is both high-relief sculpture and a protective talisman. It can it can be suspended on a sensuous serpent chain or it can be worn on your personal Omega. Please see my page, "Joy's Favorites" to learn more about this chain.
I created this pendant slide in sterling silver, which has a brilliant shine when new -- as untainted as a newborn baby. You can keep yours that way through regular polishing. (use Baking soda and water.) Or you can let nature give your pendant slide a rich patina, especially in the recessed areas. I can't wait to see mine after a year or so, which is when I really start to love my sterling jewelry. The effect, which cannot be produced as beautifully with chemicals, adds definition to the sculptural qualities and enhances the three-dimensionality of the piece.
Remember that sterling silver, like all silver, is subject to scratches and may dent if dropped on a hard surface. When handled with love, the pendant will grow more beautiful with age and provide years of enjoyment.
This pendant slide is an extension of the miniature fine art I create. Each is created at or smaller than the 1:6 scale recognized as the standard by miniature societies throughout the world. Each is crafted by hand, one at a time, using the lost wax casting method, a technique that has been used for thousands of years. Each is signed, numbered and includes my mark, .
Wear and enjoy! |

| Jewelry Polish ... KISS - Keep it So Simple |
| The jeweler who casts my work recommends a simple solution to polish your precious metal: baking soda and water! Wet your fingers, dip in baking soda, and gently rub over the piece until the desired sheen has been achieved. It's easy, earth friendly, and economical! Keep it so simple. |
